Mon, 13 April 2009 Two guests separately discuss the murder of a two year old girl in Orland Park. Nour Hadid is charged in the murder of her niece. She was photographed by the Police and her mug shot was released to the public showing her without her Hijab and apparently also bare shouldered. Our first guest is attorney Reem Odeh, partners with attorney Joel Brodsky (Brodsky & Odeh at www.BrodskyOdeh.com). Odeh represents Nour Hadid and charges the police used "Abu Ghraib tactics" to intimidate Hadid into a confession. Those tactics included rushing a charge of murder when the circumstances of the death may not lead to that conclusion, Odeh argues. And, forcing Hadid to unveil -- she wears a Hijab, or head covering. Later, Orland Park Police Chief Tim McCarthy, who has strong respect among American Arabs and Muslims, comes to the defense of the Orland Park Police Department arguing that his department was not the lead agency in investigating the killing. Instead, he says that the probe was led by the South Suburban Crimes Task Force, which he heads. Both interviews, one right after the other, are included in this podcast, first with Reem Odeh and then followed by Police Chief Tim mcCarthy.
